A Yoruba Man Will Win 2019 Presidential Election – Prophet Onyekachukwu

Prophet Onyekachukwu Okolie who predicted that President Muhammadu Buhari will win the 2015 election has prophesied that a Yoruba man will win the 2019 elections.

In an interview with The Sun, the founder and general overseer of Living Abundance (Mount Zion) Prophetic and Deliverance Ministry in Lagos said that he told Nigerians that God told him that Goodluck Jonathan will lose the 2015 presidential elections.
He said God has also shown him now that a Yoruba person will win the 2019 presidntial elections.

He said: “I said it and it came to pass that Jonathan would vacate Aso Rock for Buhari to take over in 2015. Before the election proper in April 2015, God revealed to me that the then President Goodluck Jonathan had lost out even before the first ballot was cast. The Holy Spirit showed me where Jonathan and Buhari embarked on a journey.

Suddenly, Jonathan’s car broke down, while Buhari speedily overtook him. Having gone too far, Buhari looked back and saw Jonathan far behind him looking helpless and dejected.

“Buhari pulled over and got to Jonathan, commanded him to enter the car and finally used his (Buhari) car to tow both Jonathan and his car and zoomed off on a very high speed. When I woke up it dawned on me that Jonathan was bound to lose the election and it happened just the way I saw it.

“I also predicted the current hardship ravaging the country right now. On December 31, 2015, during the New Year eve service I warned the congregation to brace up for hard times that will befall the country. It was like what the Bible recorded in 2Kings 7:1 where there was so much famine and drought in the land that men had to slaughter their own offspring for food. I urged the worshippers to be strong in prayers to survive the ugly situation.

“God has clearly revealed to me what will happen in 2019. President Muhammadu Buhari will complete his tenure, but will not run for the elections in 2019. The Holy Spirit told me that the next president of Nigeria will come from Yoruba land. Note it down this day that I, Prophet OnyekachukwuOkoli, prophesied that a Yoruba man will emerge as the president of Nigeria in 2019.

He also insisted that Igbos are from Israel and gave biblical reference to support his claim.


"The Igbo people are Hebrews from Israel. They have common traits with the Hebrews. The word Jewish is a misnomer. Jewish, is a term used for people who misbehaved and are not orderly. The states of Israel today, hold the Igbo people in very high esteem because they share both biological and ethnic ties. Several portions of the bible including Genesis 48:18 and Leviticus chapter 12 vividly lend credence to the fact that the Igbo people are one of the 12 tribes of Israel."

Meanwhile, the 2019 presidential ambition of Governor Ayodele Fayose hit the rocks even before it began as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under which he hopes to achieve this feat, has asked him not to waste his time.

The party informed him the slot for the presidency had been zoned to the northern part of Nigeria, adding that all its members were aware of this.

Chairman of UBA, Tony Elumelu, has called on the National Assembly to pass progressive bills that will impact positively on the economy, following Nigeria’s exit from recession.

Elumelu, who is also the chairman of Heirs Holding Limited, made the call in Abuja shortly after he was conferred with the Fellowship of the Nigerian Economic Society at the 58th annual conference of the society.

He was honoured alongside the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and Prof. Essien Okoh of the University of Benin.

Elumelu noted that there were a lot of policies that needed legislative approval to unlock the potential of the economy.

He cited the creation of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria through legislation as an example of what good legislation could do.

Elumelu also urged the Nigerian Economic Society to come, with recommendations to the government that would help reposition the economy on the path of recovery.

Also speaking at the event, Sanusi said certain decisions, which had been taken in the past, were still having adverse consequences on the economy.

For instance, he stated that the constitutional provisions that made it mandatory for each state to have a minister, as well as a certain number of legislative seats at the federal, states and local governments, were not necessary.

According to the emir, this political structure comes with huge financial burden, and this is why the government had huge amounts as overhead expenses.

He said if the government did not address some of the social and political issues, the country was not likely to experience the growth it desired.

Police Arrests Man Who Helped Rescue Kidnapped Victims Inside Creek

Residents of Igando area of Lagos were shock after police from arrested a young man simply known as ‘Egbon’, who led the Vigilante group to the creek and exposed the kidnappers den which led to the rescue of seven victims.

The arrest and detention of Egbon had triggered negative reactions especially from those living in Akesan, Egan Igando and Badore areas who knew the role he played in unmasking the criminals.
According to PM Express, the police were not happy that Egbon took the vigilante group to the creek instead of the police where seven victims were recently rescued. The vigilante group also recovered arms, handed them over to police and the kidnappers were temporarily dislodged.

The police has turned now to allege that Egbon knew too much about the activities of the kidnappers and therefore must be among those who collect ransom for the kidnappers.

During a visit to Igando Police Division, the DPO was said not to be around but the young man was still detained in the cell.

However, a police source confirmed that Egbon was arrested as a suspect. The source also said he will be transferred to the State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS at Ikeja for interrogation. The Area Commander, Area M Idimu Command, ACP Austine Akika was contacted and he said he would contact the DPO to find out the facts and get back to the reporter but did not.

The VGN Lagos State Deputy Commander, Mr Adeye Santos confirmed the development and explained what happened. He said Egbon was one of the key informants the vigilante group was using to unmask the criminal hideouts mostly in the riverine areas because of his deep knowledge of the water ways.

He said in the last operation which led to the rescue of the seven victims, he was fully involved and even led the operation in the creek. He was therefore surprised when he was told that Egbon has been arrested and detained by the police as one of the kidnappers.

He wondered how he would be chasing the kidnappers and at the same time be among them.

Residents have described dealing with the police as dangerous despite the fact that they always claimed that ‘police is our friend'.

He said the rampaging songs of discord and disunity among the various tribes in the country could only draw the nation backwards, insisting that God had destined Nigeria to be a great nation.

The cleric noted also that though God is still very much interested in the Nigeria project, the leaders should rise up and allow the fear of God to rule them.

“I have, on several occasions, had encounters with God concerning this country. I have related this several times on our weekly television programme on LTV, Heal My Land. I can assure you that God is still at work and that is why I am advising President Buhari to urgently declare a national prayer for the nation to regain its lost glory and be among the blessed nations of the world,” he said.

IPOB & Their Biafra Fight Can Stop Igbos From Producing Nigeria’s President – Governor Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has stated that the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) will affect the chances of Igbos to produce Nigeria’s president.

According to him, the agitators had every right to complain about marginalization but not a call for separation from the country as they have been doing.

He told newsmen on Thursday that IPOB was not good for the South East, and it was not the best way for them to complain about marginalisation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He said, “There are better ways; the IPOB way is too primitive. If IPOB must do a thing like that it should have changed the name and fought the way Ijaw youths fought, Arewa youths fought, and they would have made more impact. For everything that comes from the Igbo man, we love to go to the extreme.

“Now you want to separate yourself from Nigeria, meanwhile, South-South will not go with you, Edo, Rivers will not go with you. If you cut us off here now as South east, if I need to go to Rivers State, I will go and ask for passport and visa, and we are keeping quiet to say this.

“If there is a crisis now, there is no Hausa man in Igbo land who has a duplex, there is no Yoruba man who has a room and parlour or a N20 million investment in Igbo land, but Igbo have trillions of naira virtually everywhere.

“The same people are asking for secession. If Igbo are asked to go, what happens? They would lose their property, and all of us are keeping quiet, supporting IPOB! It was very childish, and those behind this should stop, that is my advice.

“South-South has produced the president, South-West has produced a president and Vice President, the north has produced many presidents, it is hoping that one day in the next shift, by whatever arrangement, the next people that should be considered is the South-East by Nigeria’s sharing formula.

“So, where are we in our wisdom and the intelligence? That is my position on IPOB; my advice is that Igbo should change their style and condemn IPOB in a manner that should be done and let us flow with the rest of Nigeria for now because we shall benefit more than anyone else.”

Air Force Concluded Intensive Clearance Operations In Sambisa Forest

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said it has concluded its operation code-named “Operation Ruwa Wuta” at the massive Sambisa forest and other suspected locations and hideouts of the notorious Boko Haram terrorists.

A statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, said “to successfully execute the Operation, the NAF conducted a total of 129 missions in 180 sorties within a total of over 208 flying hours.”

Adesanya also said the operations included series of medical outreach programmes by NAF for scores of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The statement reads: “The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has just concluded Operation RUWAN WUTA, which was essentially an intensive day and night aerial bombardment of locations where Boko Haram terrorists were attempting to re-colonize in Northeastern Nigeria.

“An integral part of the Operation, which lasted from 7 – 16 September 2017, was a medical outreach programme that was targeted at providing free medical treatment to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in camps near Maiduguri, the Sambisa general area and Rann, in particular.

“The NAF also conducted free surgeries for IDPs that needed surgical interventions, airlifting them to the NAF Medical Centre in Maiduguri where necessary.

“In all, 700 IDPs in Rann alone received free medical treatment while free surgical interventions were carried out on 146 IDPs out of a total of 1,032 that were screened in all the beneficiary IDP camps. As at 20 September 2017, the free surgical interventions included 90 eye surgeries and 56 general surgeries while 60 other IDPs received free medicated eyeglasses from the NAF.

“The surgical interventions on the IDPs are still ongoing and would come to an end on 21 September 2017.

“On 16 September 2017, the concluding day of Operation RUWAN WUTA, the NAF successfully attacked some structures in Kote (near Bama), where BHTs were suspected to be holding a meeting. Kote was a BHT infested location, hosting significant BHT activities, as revealed by NAF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms.

“Air interdiction was conducted on the BHT structures in Kote with NAF Alpha Jet and the F-7Ni aircraft, which took turns to attack the enemy location with bombs. Subsequent Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) revealed that the targeted structures were destroyed.

“It is recalled that the objective of Operation RUWAN WUTA was to ‘rain significant fire’ on BHT hideouts thereby further degrading the ability of the terrorists to freely operate and consequently giving advantage to friendly surface forces to gain momentum.

“Accordingly, enemy locations, which were successfully attacked, with significant damage on the BHTs, include Parisu, Njimia, Zanari, Garin Maloma, Yale Market, Mungusum, Arra and Kote. A comprehensive BDA over the attacked locations after the 10-day operation revealed the complete absence of BHT activities.

“To successfully execute the Operation, the NAF conducted a total of 129 missions in 180 sorties within a total of over 208 flying hours..."

WAR IN TARABA AS Mama Taraba & The APC Clash - Details

Mama Taraba is Senator Aisha Alhassan, the current Minister of Women Affairs in the Muhammadu Buhari cabinet, and arguably the most influential female politician in Taraba state today.

She did something shocking and unusual in Nigerian politics during the last Eid-el-Kabir holidays. While paying homage to former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, she addressed him as follows: “Your Excellency, our father and our President by the grace of God, come 2019…”

Members of the ruling APC have been on a warpath with her since then...
They have labeled Mama Taraba a traitor, and an ingrate and have even called for her immediate sack, disgrace, humiliation and outright dismissal for “anti-party activities”.


What is not clear is how a serving Minister expressing an opinion amounts to “an anti-party activity.” Atiku whom she visited is a member and one of the leaders of the APC, and she has since made it clear, not only in private but through the BBC, that she regards Atiku as her political godfather and mentor, and should he decide to run for President in 2019, she will support him, not Buhari.

She does not deserve the hate speeches she is getting from the Buhari apologists. If Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai is to be believed, Mama Taraba has never regarded President Buhari as her political mentor. He was not even her choice as a presidential candidate in the 2015 APC primaries. She voted for her mentor, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who contested against the incumbent President at the time.

She deserves high marks for her consistency, honesty, and courage. Any close watcher of Nigerian politics can easily appreciate the gravity of the risk that she has taken. It is that kind of risk that could attract a punishment worse than dismissal from the Cabinet. In the estimation of those who are asking for her to be punished by both the ruling party and the President, Mama Taraba has crossed certain “red lines”.

In the first place, she did not go to Daura to pay homage to the President, instead, she went to Adamawa to visit former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a man who has declared an interest in sending President Buhari out of Aso Villa. In Nigeria’s unwritten manual of politics and governance, political appointees are not to be seen with those who are considered enemies or rivals of the ruler. Mama Taraba not only crossed that line, she went many steps further.

It is also the rule in Nigerian politics that political appointees are expected to sing the praise of their bosses in public all the time, and should they have any misgivings they can only express those misgivings privately. The problem this has created is that most political appointees are as subservient as civil servants. They don’t express independent opinions as they should, not to talk of misgivings. They just act as directed. The President or the Governor is considered the wisest man exercising a divine mandate that no man should question.

The corridor of power in Nigeria is littered with sycophants. In one state, for example, the new Speaker of the State House of Assembly was asked if the legislature under his watch would avoid the temptation of becoming the Governor’s rubber stamp. The fellow reportedly responded: “I tell you, this House of Assembly will not only be the Governor’s rubber stamp, we will be his Seal!”

Mama Taraba has chosen to be different. Those who are criticising her are not stupid either, but it is just so convenient for them to play the role of sycophants and court jesters. They know when Mama Taraba says President Buhari should not run in 2019, what she is really saying is that she does not consider him fit enough for that office. She is more or less passing a vote of no confidence in the President. She is by the same token advertising Atiku Abubakar as a better person. The crabs in the corridor of power have amplified these suggestions to the level of blasphemy.

But the truth is that there are many of them who probably hold the same opinion, who is secretly working against the Buhari Presidency, but they would never admit doing so publicly. These green snakes under the green grass, are the hidden saboteurs, the Judases President Buhari must beware of.

They are like the members of the Akintola group in the First Republic in the then Western Region. In the fight for political supremacy between Samuel Ladoke Akintola, who would later cross to the NNDP (or Der-mor as the people called it) and Chief Obafemi Awolowo of the Action Group, many supporters of the former openly supported Awolowo, but they were loyal to Akintola and the NNDP. There was even a famous song on this: “Bi o ri owo mi, o o ri inu mi, Demo ni mo wa.”

The elevation of perfidy into a strategy started long ago in Nigerian politics. In this instance, Mama Taraba has boldly called the bluff of her adversaries: she says she is ready to quit the Cabinet if she is asked to leave. How many of her colleagues feel the same way but too scared to say so?

With Aisha Alhassan, President Buhari knows where he stands. It is better for him that this is so. Ordinarily, Mama Taraba should support him. In 2015, she contested for the Gubernatorial position in Taraba state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and lost. She petitioned the State Election Tribunal and won, but this victory at the Tribunal which would have made her the first elected female Governor in Nigeria was later upturned by the Appeal and Supreme Courts.

By bringing her into his Cabinet, President Buhari rehabilitated her. He was advised against offering her the position then because she was a known Atiku person. President Buhari needs not regret the choice he has made. His appointment of non-Buhari persons into his Cabinet, including persons who refused to leave the PDP and join the APC, and are still in the PDP or other parties, is an indication of his own largeness of heart and statesmanship.

He should be glad that this particular Minister has spoken honestly. At least, he now knows that he cannot rely on her political structures in Taraba state and wherever else she wields influence. In case he plans to run in 2019, Mama Taraba has already served him an early notice – he would have to build his political machinery in that state around someone else. Her critics insist that she should on her own resign and go back to her Atiku.

This raises the question of the nature of loyalty in politics. What determines loyalty? There is a lot of obsession with loyalty or disloyalty in Nigerian politics. Did Aisha Alhassan take an oath of office to serve Buhari or the Federal Republic of Nigeria? What we know is that political leaders in Africa place loyalty to themselves above loyalty to the state. Which is why our security and law enforcement agencies are so mercurial; they are ever so busy protecting the political interests of the incumbent, and will change should the incumbent change, rather than focusing on their core mandates. If Mama Taraba is efficient in the discharge of her duties as Minister, President Buhari should ignore those who are asking him to sack her.

What cannot be ignored though, is that the ruling APC is truly and terribly in crisis. The subsequent attacks on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by the pro-Buhari wing of the APC, following his declaration that he was used and dumped by the President further, confirms the depth of this internal turmoil. But was Atiku really used and dumped, or to use his word, “sidelined?” He says: “I was sidelined, I have no relationship with the government. I’ve not been contacted even once to comment on anything and in turn, I maintained my distance. They used our money and influence to get to where they are but three years down the lane, this is where we are.” These are strong words.

The bitterness in Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s tone touches the heart. But can he really claim that he has been sidelined when Mama Taraba, his loyalist and at least one or two others from his political camp are playing key roles in the Buhari government? Could they have gone to work for Buhari without his “permission” or knowledge? The side-talk that they got the job on their own merit is opaque given the clientelist character of political proximity in African democracies.

With Mama Taraba’s statement, Atiku’s protest, and the epigrammatic statement by Senator Shehu Sani about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that was thrown in, the support base for President Buhari’s likely shot at a second term in office appears shaky.

Senator Sani confirms this when he says: “The Lion Monarch should reach out to the aggrieved but silent Lagoon Lion so that he doesn’t explode like the Hippo. The Lagoon Lion controls waters that can drown… The disloyal Cobra who spat venom before you and the friendly Viper who sprayed venom behind you are all snakes. In comparison the former is of lesser evil than the latter.”

In straightforward English, Shehu Sani is saying President Buhari is likely to drown politically if he does not pay homage to “the silent Lagoon Lion.”

The tragedy of the APC is that a party that came to power as a party of change-agents has in all of two years and four months become a party of lions, hyenas, jackals, snakes, and rats. Those who have been using these animal kingdom references so freely are party insiders who obviously know the circumstances of their own party. What is seen is an increasingly atomistic political party, looking hubristic-ally, like the dominant party it displaced. It is worse than the party leaders are now speaking in tongues.

In a statement issued on September 25, 2016, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu sounded a note of warning asking for an urgent reform of the party. He was ignored. As at this moment, the APC is yet to hold a national convention; it has no Board of Trustees. Internal party processes have broken down. It should also be recalled that when Senator Bukola Saraki made the moves that saw him emerge as Senate President of the 8th National Assembly in 2015, the first and the only prominent party leader he visited was Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

It was a very sensitive move in the APC chess game – the anti-Saraki and anti-Atiku groups within the party are still fuming two years later! In the 2015 election, President Buhari got close to 2 million votes from Kano state. Today, Kano is divided against his Presidency. During the last Sallah, supporters of the incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and loyalists of the former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso turned the prayer ground into a battle-field, using machetes freely on a Holy day! Ganduje is pro-Buhari. Kwankwaso nurses a Presidential ambition.

The big threat to the Buhari Presidency is not the likes of Aisha Alhassan, who speak their minds, but the possible union of the lions, snakes, the hyenas and the rats, hiding in dark corners, waiting to take their pounds of flesh from the party and the Buhari Presidency.

Atiku To Buhari: Fulfill Your Promise To Nigerians

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has urged President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress administration to fulfill its promise to Nigerians to make them feel safe again.
Atiku, who is the founder of the American University of Nigeria group of schools in Yola, Adamawa State, faulted an online report on one of the Chibok girls.

Faulting the report, Atiku said, “Not everything is about 2019.”

The former Vice-President said this in a statement signed on his behalf by his Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, in Abuja, on Sunday.
Atiku was reacting to a publication suggesting that one of the freed kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls, attempted suicide to protest being compelled to attend one of his schools.

He noted that he was not aware that anyone was being forced to attend one of his schools.

“The Waziri Adamawa prays that those who have suffered so much get all the treatment and support they need, and urgently calls on the Federal Government to honor its promise to make Nigerians feel safe again,” the statement said.

He said, “Unfortunately, the best intentions can backfire. These girls are still healing, and clearly, the recent deterioration of the security situation in the North-East has opened old wounds.”

Meanwhile, there are indications that APC National Working Committee members are divided on how to handle statements credited to Atiku and the Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan.

Pope Francis sustained minor injuries on Sunday when he lost his balance and bumped his head against a vehicle barrier while riding in the popemobile during his visit to Cartagena, Colombia.

The popemobile is a customized vehicle designed with bulletproof glass designed to protect the pope while he greets crowds.
According to ABC News, the 80-year-old Catholic Pontiff appeared to be leaning outside a glass panel in front of him when the vehicle stopped and his face made contact with the barrier.

He bruised his cheekbone and cut his left eyebrow with blood staining his white cassock following the incident.

A spokesman for the pope confirmed the injuries, which were captured on video, saying he has a wound on his cheekbone and eyebrow but he is “fine.” He is receiving “ice treatment,” the spokesman added.

Pope Francis has been visiting Colombia since Wednesday, making stops in the cities of Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena.

He left Colombia also on Sunday after appealing to the country to “untie the knots of violence” following a 50-year civil war.

Arik airline files N20 billion lawsuit against FG, Ethopian airlines over plans to acquire it

Management of Arik Air Limited has filed an N20 billion suit against the Federal Ministry of Transport, Attorney General of the Federation and Ethiopian Airlines over claims negotiation negotiations for the acquisition of the airline have begun by the latter.

Recall February 2017 saw the airline being taken over by the Asset Management Company of Nigeria over poor management, inability to service its debts and pay employees’ salaries.
The airline's attorneys Babajide Koku (SAN), Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwigwe and Mrs. Ezinne Emedom, on September 6th, filed the lawsuit at the Federal High Court Lagos. They are requesting that a stop is put to further negotiations of the airline by the Federal government and the Ethiopian airline.

Part of the 20-paragraph court paper reads

“The plaintiff avers that the agreement of the second defendant with the first defendant will be wide ranging and intricately affect every aspect of the plaintiff herein, including but not limited to the day to day running technical as well as financial management which will affect the plaintiff as being the largest domestic and regional airline in Nigeria. The plaintiff further avers that the action taken by the first and second defendants will have a negative effect on the country’s image as the plaintiff being the largest airline will be pawned over to another country for management,” it said.

We Can’t Disclose Our Salaries & Allowances – Senate

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Aliyu Abdullahi, has lamented the constant harassment of the Senate by Nigerians, adding that the upper legislative chamber cannot disclose its salaries and allowances.

Abdullahi said this during a live programme on Channels titled, ‘Politics Today.’ The spokesman also refused to state how much the lawmakers earned in salary and allowances.
When asked to say how much he earned, Abdullahi said it was rude of the presenter to ask him how much each senator earned.

Abdulahi said, “You don’t expect me to come out on national television to say this is what I earn. It is not done. I cannot ask you as a journalist how much you earn. It is not done.

“If anybody is interested in how much we are getting paid, you know where to get the information. The documents are available. If Nigerians won’t believe that, is it what I will say that they will believe?”

The Senate spokesman said the figures released by the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), were false, adding that the Senate’s budget was not even as high as what Sagay released.

He said Sagay was only trying to cause unnecessary tension between the National Assembly and the Presidency.

When confronted with figures exclusively obtained by Channels which put the salary and allowances of each senator at N14m per month and House of Representatives members as N8m per month, Abdullahi said he could not confirm or deny the figures.

Man Hacks Off Wife's Legs Because He Thought She Was Cheating

A man has hacked off the feet of his wife identified as Putu Careen in the presence of their two young children because he thought she was cheating on him.

According to report, the woman was attacked by her very drunk husband her native town Canggu, Bali in South East Asia.
Photos of the weapon believed to have been used in the attack were found in her home. Local police say the suspect 'regretted' his attack and drove the 33-year-old victim to the hospital after inflicting the shocking injuries. 

Mrs. Careen was pictured in agony on a hospital bed, with her bloodied legs bandaged as doctors battle to save her life. Her children, who witnessed the horrendous scene, are aged just nine and 13-years-old.

Badung Police Chief, Yudith Satriya Hananta told local media that: "The left leg of the victim broke the ankle, while the victim's right leg almost broke with a cut on the shin".

Police have detained the 36-year-old suspect, while an appeal has been launched to raise money for the victim's care.

A young man who snatched a vehicle on Friday night at Gaa Akanbi area of Ilorin, Kwara state, has been apprehended by security men. There was a baby in the car when the incident happened.

How To Get Your Life Back From Too Much Busy & Stressed Out

When we feel too busy and ruled by our schedule, we’re often using our time as a cover-up for what’s in our hearts. It’s easier to stay busy sometimes than dealing with our underlying fears, failures, emotions, and worries. No calendar overhaul will change our hearts. But we often find that as we make concrete changes our hearts, too, change.

So how do we get our lives back from a hectic schedule? How do we break free from business to live lives that are peaceful, reflective of our goals and our faith, and work towards the health of our families, our neighbors, and the world around us?

Here are a few ways to start:
1. Stop and Pray
We have to first stop and take account of our schedules. Get your calendar out and sit down with those in your family who make the decisions and discuss what you’re already committed to. What brings you life and joy? What furthers your purpose as an individual or a family? What are you doing just because you think it’s expected of you?

Pray over your calendar. Our time is a precious commodity we can use to love God and love others. When we’re so busy, we don’t have space in our lives to love others well. Pray for guidance that God would allow your commitments to reflect what He loves and what He’s doing in the world.

2. Set Goals
Assess your goals and create a personal or family mission statement. What are your goals as a family? If you want your children (and you!) to increase in kindness, faithfulness, and love of God and neighbor does what you have on your calendar reflect those goals? Spend some time articulating your long-term goals for growth. Then take these goals and look at your commitments.

Evaluate how you spend your time. For instance, if hospitality and welcome are important to how you live out your faith, then make sure that’s reflected on your calendar.

3. Say “No” to Make Room for “Yeses”
We can’t be superheroes and we can’t do everything. If you’re a working mother, it might be hard to join the PTA and volunteer in your child’s class. That’s okay. We don’t need to do everything. But it may be possible to invite another family for a barbecue on the weekend and help out by teaching Sunday School at church.

Remember your goals. We have to constantly re-evaluate our schedules knowing both what God is calling us to and how he’s equipped us as individuals to work as a body of believers. That means that we have to say a lot of “no’s” before we’re able to say “yes.” Saying “no” will free up space in our hectic schedules for us to say the right “yes” that will not only make us feel less harried but more than that, will help.

4. Schedule
As you continue to work with your calendar, and as you pray, set goals, say no so you can say appropriate yeses, and evaluate, schedule the things that further your mission statement. Make room in your calendar for the long-term projects and dreams that get crushed out by daily minutiae. Pray for your eyes to be opened to needs around you and allow the Holy Spirit to move in you to work for God’s kingdom right where you are.

May our calendars and schedules reflect not only our own goals but more importantly, may they be instruments to love God and love our neighbor.

ASUU Strike: FG Begins Payment Of University Lecturers' Salary Arrears

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has disclosed that the Federal Government has begun the payment of salary arrears of the striking university teachers.

But the lecturers, under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) insisted that the Federal Government must remit N200 billion into the universities’ revitalisation fund before the ongoing strike can be suspended.
ASUU leaders, who came to the negotiation table with a former President of the union, Prof. Assisi Asobie and President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Abuba Wabba, explained that the payment of their salary arrears without getting a commitment to the payment of the N200 billion for the rehabilitation of the universities would portray the union as being only concerned with the welfare of its members and not the general improvement of the teaching conditions in the institutions.

Issues in contention include the registration of Nigerian Universities Pension Management Company (NUPEMCO); fractionalization of salaries in federal universities and gross under-funding/non-funding of state universities and arrears and the implementation of earned academic allowance; and the non-release of funds for the revitalisation of public universities as spelt out in the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding.

Other issues are guidelines for the retirement benefits of professors in line with the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement; Treasury Single Account (TSA), etc.

A mentally unstable woman welcomed a bouncing baby in Sapele area of Delta state. According to an eyewitness, a woman who sells 'Bole' (roasted plantain) noticed that the mentally deranged lady was in labor. She tried to assist her but noticed that the woman's placenta refused to come out.
