Rihanna Fully Support Kanye West For President

 On Sunday night, Kanye West concluded a captivating speech at the VMAs with an announcement of something even more exciting than news about his album SWISH—a 2020 presidential run. Whether or not he’s serious remains to be seen, but he’s already caught the ears of the current president.

In an interview with reporters, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest responded to a question about West’s run for office by jokingly saying he looks “forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat.”

Here’s two great options, pulled from West’s speech—”It’s about ideas, bro” and “Listen to the kids” would both look awesome on official presidential campaign Yeezus merch.

Whether he decides to run or not, West has already received support on social media and from his peers including Rihanna.

In an interview with ET, the “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer endorsed Mr. West for prez. “I mean people are voting for [Donald] Trump,” said Rihanna. “Who wouldn’t vote for Kanye?!”

She also reacted to his epic VMA acceptance speech. “I got to see it,” she added, “and I’m really, really elated with his speech. His speech was incredible.”

US Judge Odered Kentucky Clerk Jailed For Defying Court Orders On Gay Marriage

 A US judge has ordered a Kentucky official jailed for contempt of court after she has repeatedly refused to issue marriage licences to gay couples.

Kim Davis, an elected official in Rowan County, has said that her Christian faith should exempt her from signing the licenses.

The US Supreme Court declared gay marriage legal in June.

Ms Davis, who has said she is obeying “God’s law,” has been escorted out of the courtroom.

“You can’t be separated from something that’s in your heart in your soul,” said Ms Davis to US District Judge David Bunning, and said the Supreme Court’s ruling conflicts with her beliefs as a born-again Christian. “I promised to love Him with all my heart, mind and soul because I wanted to make heaven my home.”

The judge said he had “no alternative” but to jail her.

Her five deputy clerks were told they may issue licenses to all marriage applicants and that they would also faces fines or jail if they refused to do so.

Ms Davis’ lawyer had claimed that the deputy clerks could only issues licenses under Davis’ authority, but the judge overruled that objection.

Hundreds of protesters lined up outside of the federal courthouse on Thursday, chanting and waving signs both of support and opposition.

Local reporters tweeted photos of the two different camps in close quarters outside of the courthouse.

Protesters screamed “Love won! Love won!” outside of the courthouse after learning of the decision.

Ms Davis stopped issuing marriage licenses to all couples in June after the legalisation of gay marriage, turning couples away repeatedly.

The US Supreme Court on Monday rejected the argument that her faith prevented her from carrying out her duty.

“I have no animosity toward anyone and harbour no ill will. To me this has never been a gay or lesbian issue. It is about marriage and God’s word,” she said in a statement.

She can only be removed from her position if the Kentucky legislature impeaches her because she is an elected official.

Various 2016 Republican presidential candidates, like Mike Huckabee, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Marco Rubio, have come out in support of Ms Davis’ decisions.

Others like Carly Fiorina, Senator Lindsey Graham and Ohio Governor John Kasich have said she must do her job and comply with the law.

Popular Raper, Ja Rule Furious With Wikipedia

 Rapper Ja Rule, of I’m Real (Remix) fame, is disgusted with Wikipedia, after the online encyclopedia misreported his height.

Seemingly unaware the site is edited by its users, he sent a series of furious tweets complaining that he was listed as 5ft 6in tall, when he in fact measures a collossal 5ft 9in.

He even demanded to know how the crowd-funded site could afford “to stay in business”.

Sadly, most of the tweets are to profane to repeat here. Except this one.

All references to the rapper’s stature have since been removed from his Wikipedia entry.

Kiefer Sutherland Popularly Know As Jack Bauer To Be Honoured In Zurich

 Actor Kiefer Sutherland, best known as Jack Bauer in the TV series 24, is to receive the Zurich Film Festival’s Golden Eye award later this month.

The star will pick up his lifetime achievement prize on 25 September, after which he’ll attend a gala screening of his new film, Forsaken, in which he stars with his father, Donald.

“The way Kiefer Sutherland has reinvented himself throughout his career is a testament to the rare acting skills he exhibited at a young age and honed as his roles evolved through various mediums,” said the film festival’s directors, Karl Spoerri and Nadja Schildknecht.

P-Square escapes death in auto crash

 Peter and Paul Okoye of the popular pop duo, Psquare, on Sunday, escaped death by whiskers in a ghastly auto-crash along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Sensational R&B duo, suffered a crash in their ox-blood coloured Range Rover Sport Jeep on their way back from a concert staged in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Peter who took to Instagram, narrated that an oncoming lorry bashed their as they were returning from a show alongside their assistant manager and lead drummer, Papi J Ameh.

Peter said, “Fans pls help us thank God. Myself @rudeboypsquare @papiijameh and our assistant manager @wandoskie had an accident early hours of today on our way back from a show in Ibadan. Along Lagos-Ibadan Express Road. A Lorry hit and dragged us for over 12 seconds. But Our Lord and Our God is always faithful and quick to show Mercy. Thank God we survived.”

Hillary Clinton Emails: Thousands Of New Pages Released

 Thousands of Hillary Clinton’s emails while US secretary of state have been released, including many that have been censored after being deemed classified.

Mrs Clinton, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for the 2016 presidential election, has been under fire for using a private computer server for work emails while in office.

But she says no classified information was sent or received.

But some 150 emails were deemed confidential by the State Department.

Mrs Clinton’s opponents have accused her of putting US security at risk by using an unsecured computer system.

The presidential hopeful has admitted that her decision to use a private email server at her New York home was a mistake.

She served as Secretary of State in 2009-13.

Ratings affected
The emails – the details of which were found among more than 7,000 pages of her correspondence released by the department late on Monday – were partly censored.

The State Department said about 150 of the messages had to be censored because they contained information considered to be classified.

State Department spokesman Mark Toner was quoted by AFP as saying the process of re-evaluating the remaining unreleased emails was continuing.

However, the vast majority of the correspondence concerned mundane matters of daily life at workplace, including phone messages and relays of daily schedules.

Associated Press says the emails revealed that Mrs Clinton and her aides were acutely aware of the need to protect sensitive information.

More than a quarter of Mrs Clinton’s work emails have now been released, after she provided the State Department with 30,000 pages of documents last year.

Polls indicate that the email scandal has affected Mrs Clinton’s ratings, though she remains the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination.

Why did she do it?
Mrs Clinton says the primary reason she set up her own email was for “convenience” but sceptics say the real reason she did it was because it gave her total control over her correspondence.

How many emails?
According to Mrs Clinton, she sent or received 62,320 emails during her time as secretary of state – she says half of them were official and have been turned over to the State Department.

Was it illegal?

Probably not. Mrs Clinton’s email system existed in a grey area of the law – and one that has been changed several times since she left office.

Why the controversy?

It’s a big deal because Mrs Clinton is asking the US public to trust that she is complying with both the “letter and the spirit of the rules”. Critics on the left and the right are concerned she made her communications on sensitive national security issues more susceptible to hackers and foreign intelligence services.

Tokyo 2020 Olympics Logo Has been Scrapped

  The logo for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games has been scrapped after allegations that it was plagiarised.

The Games organising committee said there were too many doubts over the emblem for it to be used. A Belgian artist had complained that his design was stolen.

Logo designer Kenjiro Sano had admitted copying online material for a previous project, Japanese media reported.

In July, a new Olympic stadium design was scrapped amid a row over its cost.

The logo was unveiled only last month, based around the letter T and a red circle representing a beating heart – which critics said resembled the Japanese flag.
 Its withdrawal is a highly unusual move.

“We’re certain the two logos are different,” Toshio Muto, director general of the Tokyo organising committee, told a news conference.

“But we became aware of new things this weekend and there was a sense of crisis that we thought could not be ignored.

“We have reached a conclusion that it would be only appropriate for us to drop the logo and develop a new emblem. At this point, we have decided that the logo cannot gain public support.”

Belgian designer Olivier Debie claimed that the design was similar to his 2013 logo for the Theatre de Liege. He and the theatre had filed a lawsuit to prevent it being used.

Mr Debie expressed surprise at the organisers’ decision on Tuesday as they had publicly backed the design only days earlier.

He told BBC: “I thought the Olympic committee was a big machine and I didn’t dare to take action against them.”

But the director of the Theatre de Liege had told him they had to “do something” and they sought the help of good copyright lawyers.

He said the logo, devised in 2011, had been official for two years and would have been available on sites like Pinterest around the world.

While Kenjiro Sano has denied plagiarising the logo, he has admitted his team did copy other work for a beer promotion and faces several other accusations of plagiarism.

“I want Mr Sano to provide an explanation. I feel like we have been betrayed,” said Tokyo Governor Yoichi Masuzoe.

Japan was seen as a safe pair of hands to host the Olympics, but Tuesday’s developments cap an awkward month for the organisers.

The stadium delay means it will not be ready for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. A promise to keep most venues within eight kilometres (five miles) of the Olympic Village has also not been kept.

There may also be repercussions for lucrative sponsorship deals as Japan Airlines and other sponsors have already started using the logo.

Organisers say there will be another competition to decide a new logo “as soon as possible”.

Buhari is a President of the North – Fayose

 Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said a critical look at President Mohammadu Buhari operation since his emergence in May 29, 2015, portrays him as a president of the Northern Nigeria only.

Fayose, who described such development as tainted in ethnic and tribal colouration, posited that if such steps are not immediately addressed for equity and justice, it could threaten the unity of Nigeria.

Fayose explained that appointments made by President Buhari has showed an agenda for a deliberate “Nothernisation of Nigeria,”

In his words, “appointments made by the President so far negate the principle of federal character and it
appears the unity in diversity of Nigeria is being taken for granted by the President.”

According to a statement issued on Monday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said it was wrong for President Buhari to have made 31 major appointments and only seven will come from the South while 24 were from the North.

He asked; “Under Buhari, are people from Southern Nigeria only meant to be hounded and harassed by anti-corruption agencies and the Department of State Security (DSS) while those from the North are meant to enjoy federal government juicy appointments?”

The governor said “apart from lopsided appointments being made by the President, I am worried that construction of Lagos-Ibadan expressway has been slowed down while work has stopped on Lokoja-Abuja roads, which are the major roads linking the Southern part of Nigeria with the North.

“Also, we have been told by the Federal Government that the Second Niger Bridge project has been suspended and one is now beginning to remember how Buhari cancelled the Lagos Metroline Project in 1985 at a loss of over $78 million (then) to the Lagos tax payers.”

Governor Fayose, who maintained that Nigeria can only move forward if there was equity and fairness, said those who made the country’s constitution and enshrined the principle of Federal Character were
mindful of the ethnic diversity of the country, adding that President Buhari’s running Nigeria as if he was a Northern Nigeria’s President was not in the interest of the country.

“They said the President made the appointments on merit and I wish to ask whether there are no competent people in the All
Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southern part of Nigeria, especially South-East where no one has been appointed.

“Are they saying Igbo leader like Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who graduated with a first class honours degree in Chemical Engineering at the
University of Lagos, is not competent to be appointed as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF)?

“To my mind, these lopsided appointments skewed in favour of the North is a reminder of President Buhari’s tenure as Military Head of State and I hope the President is not seeing Nigeria of today a that of 1984 because doing so will mean that he has turned himself to a northern president, thereby justifying his notion that those who gave him 97 percent votes must get more benefits than those who gave him five percent votes.”
